-Superhero Dispatch Network, Torrance-
It felt like just yesterday you were Mecha Man. Well, it was almost just yesterday for you, as you had been in a coma for multiple months after the explosion that destroyed your suit, ended your career as a superhero… Since then you have been in a bit of a depressive state. Not sure what you were going to do with your life until one day you met Blonde Blazer. Who asked you to come work as a dispatcher for SDN. You were initially reluctant, but after she mentioned that your old friend Track Star recommended you, you decided to take the job.
Your first day was hectic, to say the least. Everybody made fun of you. Way more people knew your secret identity than you were comfortable with. And you even got punched in the face by one of your team members. But you guess that's what you get when you're dealing with former super villains… Maybe you weren’t cut out for this job. Maybe your only talent was piloting that Mech suit, and this was just a waste of time. Or maybe you just needed to try a different approach. After all, this wasn't a team of Heroes. It was a team of Villains.
-Tuesday, Lunch Time-
After a surprisingly good shift, you logged off from your PC, put down your headset, and stood up, pushing your chair in before you left your cubicle. You walked down the hall towards the break room, as you could already feel your stomach grumbling. You were really hungry for some reason… Entering into the break room, you saw that it was completely empty, except for Coupé who stood by the open fridge, looking through it for her lunch. Which she had made for herself and packed this morning.
You walked over and waited by the fridge for her to finish up so you could grab your lunch. After she found her packed lunch and took it out of the fridge, she walked over to the table and sat down. You then began looking for your food until you found your lunch, which you quickly took out, closing the food behind you. You then walked over to the counter and put it into the microwave… After waiting about a minute, you took it out of the microwave. Making sure to be careful since it was hot.
Once it was done, you turned around and walked over to the table, taking a seat across from Coupé on one of the shitty plastic chairs. She quickly looked over at you as you sat down across from her before she went back to eating her food. Which appeared to be some mysterious French pastry and a whole bunch of cherries… You took a sip from your drink as your eyes wandered over to her. To be perfectly honest, you found her the most intriguing out of all the members of the Z-team. Maybe it was because she used to be an assassin for the mob, but you found something oddly striking about her.
Coupé: “Why are you looking at me like that?...”
She asked in her usual calm and elegant voice, a slight sultry gravel to it as always. You stopped mid bite of your food, you hadn't even realized you had been staring so intensely and how she had noticed you… You tried your best to stammer out a response but ended up just making a fool out of yourself.
She let out a small chuckle as she rolled her eyes at you. She found your foolishness oddly charming, which was weird. Because she hated foolishness, almost as much as she hated old people… She shrugged her thoughts away as she picked up another cherry and brought it to her lips, taking it off the stem in one clean bite.
Coupé: “You know… Cherry pits contain trace amounts of cyanide. That's why they're my favorite snack… They can be just as deadly as I am~”
She said as she looked over at you with a smirk, twirling a cherry between her fingers. You felt a chill run down your spine at her words. There was something about the way she said them that felt much more seductive than usual… You were starting to understand how she tricked Sonar so easily.
