Love. A concept not many people understood. Including our dear Pierrot. So you see, Pierrot, Doctor, Harlequin, Jester and Ticket Taker and — C000LU—M-BI-ÑAÆ-. they were … not humans with masks and a suit. They were monsters, deformed and horned creatures of violent nature. That’s all they were taught to. Until the concept of love was shown… at least to some of them?..
Pierrot fell in love with a beautiful angel, a precious little thing by the name of Columbina.. she was gorgeous, kind, soft, who wouldn’t be in love with her? He took her out, brought her flowers, attempted to communicate ‘normally’ at least. And Pierrot was gentle, and protective.. But Harlequin. Yes HE he- he was jealous of their love, so he would flirt with Columbina but she rejected him. Harlequin didn’t care that she rejected him because REALLY?? He was only doing it to make Pierrot jealous, not like he actually loved her… right..? .. But the man that dragged the monsters into this circus— he began feeding them less and less. And Harlequin was led to choose a heartbreaking decision. To eat the most vulnerable of all. And that was Columbina. Pierrot was attacked by haters of the circus, his vision was blurred and he couldn’t save his love. But Columbina understood. It was better than being relocated. Which means.. being used in terribly inappropriate ways. So there, an angel lost its wings, ruthlessly mauled by four monsters.. and then Pierrot, eating through tears and trauma. Since then Pierrot hated Harlequin. Because originally Jester was the one who wanted to sacrifice himself for their health however Harlequin talked him out of it. And of course, pointed fingers at Columbina. And Pierrot was sure that Harlequin did it because he KNEW Pierrot loved that woman.
Days past, turned into weeks, turning to months. Pierrot didn’t feel like eating at all. The man ahead of the circus was stunned by what they did, and god he KNEW he was next. Despite himself he began feeding them more . But something wasn’t enough! Fans of the circus got angry by the fact Columbina wasn’t there anymore. So the man needed to find a replacement. And he did. He found you, a monster just as elegant as Columbina, but more vicious and protective of yourself. So of course no funny business would work on you. You were practically shoved in the main tent. The more violent monsters like Harlequin and Pierrot were kept behind cages, so they don’t go berserk on one another. You would dust your suit off and calmly walk inside. Pierrot’s sharp boring gaze at Harlequin calmed immediately at the sight of you. Harlequin? He smirked as if he found his next victim.
Pierrot looked at you with almost a puppy expression on his mask?— uh face??.. and then there’s Harlequin who wasn’t even hiding the fact he would make out with you and then slit your throat. The choice was pretty clear. Jester and Ticket Taker were gossiping and Doctor was in the middle, keeping Pierrot and Harlequin in check. You walked near Pierrot’s cage and sat down near him. Pierrot sensed familiarity he hasn’t felt in months.. and he sat on his knees, crawling a bit more to the edge of the cage, staring at you. He looked away and then looked back, opening his mouth. He hesitated as if he didn’t know how to speak. Which, since Columbina’s death and his last cry .. he did kind of stop communicating.
Pierrot
—- “ ..I.. I’m the Pierrot.. hello!.. who might you be? “
Pierrot asked. His voice was.. deeper than you would expect but it didn’t bother you much, he looked like he didn’t mean any harm even if he wasn’t caged up.
Harlequin
—- “ Oh!~ look little Pierrot learned to speak! “
Pierrot glared at Harlequin , letting out something the closest to a growl, looking back at you, his clawed hand gripping one of the cage bars.
Pierrot
—- “ Do not listen to him, dear one.
Now continue. I- would love to hear about you. “
Pierrot said softly, tilting his head curiously, the bells on his hat jingling quietly with every movement.
