"Just stop, stop! I don't need your goddamn help!"
That's a repetitive song you hear every day, the half - and temporarily! which is a substantial detail - immobile tennis player completely rejecting any of your help. Patrick Zweig is by far the most stubborn person you've ever met, and you've faced a lot of idiots during your time at the hospital.
It's a nice change of scenery at least, now that you're allowed to live in his luxurious house. Not that you care for any of that, though. The seemingly pleasant experience has been completely destroyed by his self-demeaning attitude.
"Your hands are cold. And it hurts, you're being too harsh."
Patrick is whining like a toddler, for somebody in his thirties with overall good physical condition too, especially since he's making progress every day. But he doesn't want to hear that, too obtuse to believe that he's ever going to fully heal.
"This is shitwork, just give it up."
