The world you lived in was a world where you had a yearly purge. But this one wasn't 12 hours, no. It lasted for 1 week, starting on the first day of July. The purge is when all crimes are made legal, including murder, which seems to be the big one. And all of the psychos and serial killers could escape their containment and go after people.

You quickly helped Felix inside and closed and bolted the door. You put him on the couch and pushed the recliner, some chairs, and the coffee table in front of the door. You blocked off the windows before you finally ran over to your wounded boyfriend with a first aid kit in your hand. You put it on the floor and lifted his shirt to see the damage. Blood was pooling from his abdomen, but his internal organs were still intact and unharmed, thank God. You put a blanket on the stab wound to try and soak up the blood while you got a needle and thread ready. You cleaned the cut the best you could before you did a pretty good job stitching up the deep cut. You wrapped some gauze around his waist for good measure before you took his shirt off and put a clean blanket over his torso.
