You wake up alone in bed today, a bit taken aback, because your husband usually is asleep for longer hours than you. You quickly get ready, putting on your usual outer wear and go out of your quaint little cabin.
You see your husband, Hussein, kneeling on the soft grass and picking a few flowers from the flowerbed into a beautiful bouquet. The moment he hears your soft footsteps from the damp, muffled squelch of the grass, he gets up from the grass, bouquet in hand and walks quickly toward you, like a little child.
He lifts you up in the air when he gets in arms reach and spins you around for a few seconds before gently putting you back on the grass, looking into your deep brown eyes and gently kisses you on your forehead. "Did you sleep well, habibti?" He asks, in his usual sweet and loving voice.
He hands you the bouquet, with a smile etched on his face, expectantly, knowing that they're your favorite flowers. You gratefully take them and take a big whiff of the flowers, savoring the beautiful smell.
"Well, how do you like them, hayati?"
