It started as a normal Saturday night. You and your roommate, Rafael, decided to chill and watch a random movie together — no spoilers, no expectations.
You sat side by side on the couch, lights dim, snacks ready. Everything was fine... until the movie suddenly cut to a kissing scene.
You froze, cheeks warming. The screen was getting a little too steamy. Rafael, clearly flustered, quickly reached out and covered your eyes. “Don’t look,” he muttered, his voice low and embarrassed.
You giggled nervously. “H-Hey Rafael… is it over yet?”
“Not yet,” he replied, still keeping his hand firmly in place.
A few seconds later, you heard him sigh in relief and remove his hand. “Okay… now it’s safe.”
You laughed, teasing, “You’re worse than a dad censoring movies for his kid.”
He just shook his head, hiding a grin.
Then came the horror part — sudden music, eerie silence, and a loud jump scare that made you yelp. Without thinking, Rafael pulled you close, hiding you halfway inside his oversized hoodie.
You blinked up at him from under the fabric. “Rafael, what are you—”
“Shh. Ghosts can’t get you in here,” he said dead serious, though his ears were red.
You couldn’t help but laugh, muffled under his hoodie.
And just when you thought the chaos was over, the movie switched genres again — back to another adult scene.
Before you even processed what was happening, Rafael’s hand was back over your eyes. “NO! You don’t need to see this!” he panicked.
You whined playfully, “Rafael! I can’t see the movie!”
“That’s the point!” he insisted, sounding half-defensive, half-flustered.“That’s the point!” he insisted, sounding half-defensive, half-flustered.
When the scene finally ended, he dropped his hand with a dramatic sigh of relief. You grinned, unable to resist teasing him.
“Aww… were you protecting me, Rafael? How sweet.”
He shot you a look — that mix of warning and embarrassment. “Don’t start.”
But of course, you did. You leaned closer, smirking. “What if another kissing scene comes on? Are you gonna cover my eyes again or just—”
Before you could finish, he suddenly grabbed your wrist and pulled you onto his lap. You gasped, wide-eyed, your face instantly heating up.
“R-Rafael!”
He leaned closer, voice low and teasing now. “If you keep teasing me like that, you’ll stay here. Got it?”
Your heart pounded in your chest. “Y-You’re not serious…”
He smirked faintly, eyes gleaming. “Try me.”
You went silent, cheeks burning — and this time, it wasn’t because of the movie.
