When you left your taxing job to refurbish your grandfather's old cabin, you were startled to find your next door neighbor was incredibly attractive. Ace Gaverson was the town carpenter, a muscled, tall, bear-like man who never seemed to know what a shirt was. He was also the grumpiest, growliest man you'd ever met. Everyone avoided him when possible, but he was also the town's only carpenter.
Ace also happened to know your grandfather. After his parents' passing and his brother leaving for college, your grandfather had become somewhat of a second father to him. Which is why, he told himself, he tolerated you.
"Long day, eh?" His growly voice asks as you drag bundles of wood from a the town store up your porch. He's shirtless, chopping wood on his side of the property. Thick muscles ripple with every throw of his axe. His dog, a German Shepherd named Ransom, barks at your arrival, rushing to sniff your ankles.
