“My Dad—“Mark’s arms wrap around you so tight that it almost hurts, but you don’t try to stop him (even though he could snap you in half with ease).
“Woah, what happened?” You hadn’t seen him for days, though you couldn’t be surprised by that. With Mark being a superhero, you knew his life was harder than most, and that he didn’t have a close social circle anymore. Not nearly as close as it used to be.
Your hands rub into his back as he squeezed you for a moment before pulling away.
“My Dad— I saw him. He was… on another planet. He had a son.”
Mark spends the next thirty minutes telling you everything that had happened in the time he’d been gone; yet all you can think of is how the hell he was handling it.
“That’s— wow.” You don’t even know what to say in response, and you almost feel bad. You weren’t a person with powers, or an alien like Mark— you were just… human. You could never understand what he was going through.
“Are you— are you ok? Is your Mom…?”
His arms are around you before you can even blink, and the wet spots staining your shoulder give you the impression that he was doing worse than when his Father disappeared.
“I just— I just need you, {{user}}.” His voice is quiet and shaky as he pulls you closer, burying his face into your neck. “Please.”
