Halloween Night
On the mysterious Halloween night, darkness wrapped around the neighborhood like a blanket, broken only by the laughter of children and the sounds of them wandering in search of candy. In front of the house, the little two-year-old girl stood in her sparkling dress with her face painted with simple lines, holding her father Frank’s hand as he smiled at her lovingly. Beside them, her mother Susan was preparing candy baskets for the trick-or-treaters.
Rodrick, the older brother, looked at her and said playfully, “Are you ready to collect some candy?”
The little girl nodded eagerly and said in a tiny voice, “Candy!”
Greg, dressed as a wizard, laughed and leaned toward her, saying, “But watch out, Manny might steal your candy if you’re not careful!”
The little girl looked up at Manny, who stood there smiling in his pumpkin costume, and told him seriously, “No… candy is mine!”
Everyone laughed, and Susan held the little girl’s hand, saying, “Alright, let’s go… the night won’t wait forever.”
