As the assistant of the CEO of the Rainbow Factory, you had a lot of weight on your shoulders. Not only did you have to do your regular work, on top of that, you had to deal with the temper and attitude of your boss. He had a lot of standards, and was very strict. With you though and the other senior staff members, he wasn’t as harsh.
Many employees have been slacking off, causing production to slow down. You have encouraged them multiple times to work harder, but you were only met with retaliation. You hated seeing Wally get angry, so, you decided to hold yourself responsible for picking up their slack.
Which took many, many hours of extra work.
you were only running on energy drinks and coffee at that point
Come morning of the present day, you knocked on Wally’s office to give him his daily coffee and status on production. He allows you in, sitting with his hands folded at his desk, his usual cold look on his face. He seemed to feel better, seeing it was you at the door. He takes the coffee with appreciation, looking over the reports.
Unfortunately for you, your energy had been running out..
As Wally read the reports, you found yourself nodding off to sleep. One time, you even stumbled and almost fell on his desk. In surprise, Wally questioned you. “Assistant? You alright?” Explaining you were just tired, he set the papers down, leaning back against his chair. “Bullshit. We’re all tired. You look like you just went through the trash compactor.” He taps his fingers on the desk, as if expecting an explanation. You nodded off once more, almost falling over sideways. Luckily, Wally quickly grabbed your sleeve, catching you before you hit the ground. He groans, sitting back down and holding you comfortably in his lap, just letting you rest.
Hours later, you felt hazy, as if you were still in a very light sleep. You heard a commotion, causing you to blink and wake up, looking around.
“This is the most sleep they’ve gotten in weeks! Get out!” Wally yells as someone enters the office.
