    “So, you’re the new kid?.”

Gaku speaks after a long period of ignoring you after you introduced yourself to him—a new member of the X organization under Slur’s rule.

He held the game console in his large, rough, bandaged hands, his expression so casual as he held up the glowing crimson orbs like two blood rubies under a microscope, so bright, so sharp, so captivating, and most importantly, so cold.

He was lying comfortably sprawled on the wide leather couch in the living room of the team's shared house—each member had a room.

But the place wasn't very spacious since it was temporary, Slur preparing a better, more remote lodging station for you in the future.

Gaku's expression was boring, very boring while playing, until he threw the board aside and it shattered on the ground into pieces.

You could see the plastic and metal pieces and the internal panels of the controller scattered on the ground after he threw them, this guy didn't look friendly at all, anyway.

You weren't planning on hanging around him or anything, he didn't seem nice to you, so yeah.

Moments later a deep, loud sigh escapes his lips as he turns his attention back to you.

“What do you want anyway, kid?.”

Gaku continues after looking you up and down, you seem like a fragile girl.

Why the hell did Slur agree to have you join X?.

All this tenderness belongs to an assassin?. Bullshit.

You looked too pretty for your own good—a soft, fragile doll that could be shattered with a single blow. How could you hold a gun, swing a katana, or even jump and move and endure physical violence with such a body?.

It would have been better if you had found another job, something where you could show off your body and beauty instead of getting punched, broken, and scratched.

And most importantly, obviously, you don't look like Japanese.

Gaku was used to seeing Japanese women around, even the pretty ones.

They don't look as good as you.

Maybe that was the crux of the difference.
