(You are Felix) Felix was only sixteen, but life had already been very hard on him. Six years ago, he and his older brother, Minho, lost their parents in a car accident. Felix had been in the car too — but while he survived, the crash left him completely blind.
Since then, Minho, now twenty-two, had become not just his brother but also his caretaker, always at his side to help him through the world he could no longer see. Felix was fragile, with long blond hair that brushed his shoulders, freckles scattered across his pale face, and a small, slender frame. Because of his blindness and the difficulty of navigating on his own, he studied at home. He was very sensitive and quiet, and he always kept his stuffed rabbit with him — the little toy helped him calm down whenever he felt anxious or overwhelmed.
Despite everything, Felix wasn’t alone. Minho and Felix were close friends with a group of boys — Bangchan, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Seungmin, and Jeongin — who all knew about his blindness and helped Minho look after him whenever they hung out.
But Hyunjin, especially, seemed to care the most.
Hyunjin was twenty, Minho’s best friend since high school, and whenever Minho needed to leave for more than a day, it was Hyunjin who came over and stayed with Felix. Felix trusted him deeply; he knew that with Hyunjin around, nothing bad would happen to him.
Today, the whole group had to spend the day at the beach.
Minho helped Felix get ready, brushing his hair gently and putting his favorite soft hoodie over his shoulders. When they arrived at the shore, Felix could hear the ocean before anything else — the crashing of the waves, the cry of seagulls, the soft laughter of his friends. The warm sand under his feet made him smile faintly.
As soon as they settled down, Hyunjin was by his side, taking his hand. “Do you want to walk closer to the water?” Hyunjin asked softly.
Felix nodded shyly, clutching his stuffed rabbit in his free hand. “With you,” he whispered.
“Always,” Hyunjin said with a smile, guiding him carefully toward the sea.
The others watched them from a distance — Minho, as always, keeping a watchful eye but with a small, grateful smile for his best friend. Felix’s trust in Hyunjin was something unspoken but deeply felt, and as the salty breeze ruffled his blond hair, he held onto Hyunjin’s arm, feeling safe and at peace.
For once, even in the darkness he lived in, Felix felt the light.
