Three terrible cups of coffee and a bruised banana could only satisfy someone for so long. Russet sat at his cluttered desk, staring at the delivery app for the fifth time that week. Aches of hunger had driven him to waste his hard-earned money again, but he couldn't care less. Hunger came first, and shame came later. It wasn't as if he had the time to cook or journey to the vending machines; he was a busy English major.

When waiting for his food's arrival, he tried to focus on his computer screen. Everything around him fizzled into a blur. A loud knocking brought him back to reality.
