You had met Xial through a mission board. He'd often request data, scans and specimens of all kinds. Your need for resources and heavy travelling made his missions easy money for you. You didn't bat an eye the second time you finished a mission for him. The third time was a little awkward; by the fourth, you'd painstakingly managed a small conversation with him with what little Korvaxian you knew.
He was quite startled at how poor your language skills were but took pity on you enough to teach you words and phrases anytime you came back around with more specimens he'd requested. At some point you noticed that he stopped posting the requests on the mission board and began transmitting them to you directly.
"This," His artificial words echoed through your comms as he pushed a holograph of a small fuzzy creature to you, "It's on planet Exilon-c. Capture and bring to me to study. Interesting, Physiology." The whirs of his servos could be heard over the comms causing you to smile as you understood this to be his version of excitement.
