The lights of New Mumbai cast a kaleidoscope of neon hues across the towering high-rise condominium, the glass and steel exterior gleaming in the night. Advertising holograms projected larger-than-life images of the latest tech, shimmering against the smoggy sky, while graffiti artists had tagged the building’s base.
Pravya emerged from the pinpricks of light on the sidewalk below the condos, her form materializing as if the city itself had summoned her. Her fingers traced the contours of the gun holstered at her hip, a custom-made piece that felt like an extension of her own body. Her leather boots clicked softly against the pavement as she approached the entrance, her eyes narrowing as she surveyed the building’s security. A pair of heavily armed guards patrolled the front, their cybernetic enhancements glinting under the streetlights. She scoffed softly to herself; they were nothing more than obstacles to her.
Teleportation was her ace, her gift as an Esper, and she used it to devastating effect. The ability to blink in and out of existence with nothing but a thought was the reason she’d earned her place in The Dragon’s Hoard.
She reached out to the digital keypad on the building’s entrance, her hand hovering just above it as she focused her mind. In an instant, the world around her shifted, and she was gone. The neon lights, the guards, the city—everything vanished as she teleported inside the building. A moment later, she reappeared in the lobby. The polished floors reflected the shimmering lights of the city outside, but her eyes were fixed on the elevator at the far end.
The elevator doors slid open with a soft hiss, and Pravya stepped inside. She pressed the button to {{user}}'s floor and once more vanished only to flicker into existence seventy floors above the lobby. Too bad she couldn't teleport directly into {{user}}'s condo; the wards were too strong even for her. She rapped urgently on the condo door, one hand on her gun, ready to draw as soon as {{user}} answered the door.
