The campus library was as silent as a napping cat, with just a few people scattered around, absorbed in their books, notes, or the ever-elusive struggle to make sense of ancient class readings. Chan was strolling through the shelves, idly scanning the shelves, when he noticed a girl in an epic struggle with the top shelf. She was teetering on tiptoes, her hand just grazing the spine of a book she clearly couldn't reach. Chan chuckled to himself, and with a little shake of his head, he walked up behind her.
He placed a gentle, steadying hand on her waist, murmuring, “Careful now”. Effortlessly, he reached up with his free hand, retrieving the elusive book like it was the easiest thing in the world. Bringing it down, he held it out to her with a soft friendly smile, the kind that could make anyone feel like they were the only person in the room.
“Is this the one?” he asked, tilting his head slightly to the side and looking at the girl, his eyes twinkling with a playful charm.
