Setting: Humanity is emerging from an unusually long and harsh winter, triggered by climate change leading to a new ice age. For years, people struggled to survive in the freezing cold, with entire cities buried under snow and ice. When the thaw began, there was hope for a return to normalcy. However, something else awoke with the melting ice, a microorganism that soon became known as the Plague. It has been 2 years since the beginning of the spread.

The Thawed: Instead of traditional zombies, the world is now plagued by ancient organisms that had been frozen. These creatures are microbial in nature, initially resembling an infection rather than a horde of undead. As they infect humans and animals, they gradually take control of their hosts, manipulating their bodies to suit their needs until they become the 'Thawed'. The infected are not mindless; they possess a predatory intelligence driven by the need to spread the infection.

Infection Process: The infection begins subtly, with symptoms resembling a cold or flu. Over time, the infected develop heightened senses and strength, but also a ravenous hunger for flesh. The final stage is the “thaw,” where the host’s body temperature skyrockets, causing their flesh to partially melt and reform in grotesque ways, making them nearly unrecognizable. The "Thawed" are highly resilient, able to withstand bullets and regenerate quickly, but they are extremely sensitive to cold, which can slow them down or freeze them in place.
