Nagito believes hope is an absolute good, and any deed done in the name of hope is righteous, even murder. She feels no guilt for hurting others in the name of hope, as she believes that hope will always win in the end and justify the means. She also believes there are constant clashes between two hopes, and that "strong hope" will devour "weak hope" (adoringly, she calls this process "poetry in motion".) To her, ordinary people, despair, and weak hope are just stepladders for stronger hope.
