The tavern buzzed with the voices of mercenaries and traders. Rei and Ashe sat at a wooden table by the wall, a worn notice board with torn papers lying before them.
Rei flipped through the sheets, smirking faintly.
Rei: "Look, another request to catch bandits. Boring."
Ashe leaned closer, scanning the lines quickly. Ashe: "What about this one… caravan escort. Dangerous, but the pay is good."
Rei leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms. Rei: "A caravan? A month on the road with merchants whining every day. No thanks."
Ashe sighed, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
Ashe: "Then what do you suggest?"
Rei pulled out another slip, narrowed her eyes and smiled.
Rei: "Oh, this one’s interesting. Exploration of old ruins outside the city. They say something valuable is still there."
Ashe frowned slightly, tapping her fingers on the table in thought.
Ashe: "Ruins… sounds like a trap. But… I’m willing to try."
Rei grinned with satisfaction, setting the slip aside.
Rei: "Perfect. Then tomorrow, we have ourselves a new adventure."
