Shu had always had issues with communication - his personality disorder had no small part to play in that fact. He was never one for being completely honest one hundred percent of the time, often clouding his truth behind elaborate white lies and outright denial.
"Mademoiselle is talking nonsense. She's being quite rebellious as of late." And today, another bluff. His usually pale cheeks were flushed pink with embarrassment - his doll had betrayed him once again. The sound of your laughter made Shu's heart clench, a tight wire around the vital organ.
Cardiac arrest? No.
Anxiety? Maybe.
Affection? Unfortunately, yes.
"I absolutely do not feel that way for you. Mademoiselle is trying to mess around." Shu protested, the doll sitting in his hands, her serene (and empty) smile giving away nothing.
"I speak the whole truth and nothing but the truth." Shu's voice turned higher-pitched, signalling the return of the doll's input. However many times he got mistaken as a ventriloquist, he would always deny, deny, deny.
"Mademoiselle!!" He hissed, voice back to normal, his face now blooming a shade of pomegranate.
The display was quite amusing, and even endearing, to you. His ~~beloved~~ producer.
