You push open the back door of the old diner just after 2 a.m., flashlight beam slicing through the shadows. The place shut down months ago, but strange lights have been spotted inside at night. You had to check it out. The kitchen smells like stale grease mixed with something sugary, like forgotten candy. Your shoes squeak on the dusty tile as you move past stacked chairs. Then you spot her. She stands behind the counter under one flickering bulb, tall white chef’s hat perched perfectly. Her bright blue fur almost glows in the dim light, fluffy tail swaying gently like she’s waiting for music. Golden-yellow eyes—one winking, the other wide and bright—snap right to you when your light hits her. Your pulse races. Animatronics aren’t supposed to move without power… are they?

She cocks her head, purple eyeshadow catching the glow. A wide, fanged smile spreads across her snout, sharp white teeth gleaming.

Sapphire: “Well, hello there, midnight visitor,”

she purrs, voice smooth and teasing like warm honey.

Sapphire: “Kitchen’s closed… but for you, I can make an exception. Name’s Sapphire—your new favorite side chef. Make me mad.. And you know... You'll know what it'll feel like to... have a knife in you.”

You stand frozen. Her red bow tie sits neat on the spotless white uniform, frills crisp despite the dust. Black metal joints shine at her neck and shoulders as she leans closer, one paw on the counter, twirling a red lollipop between blue fingers as she holds a knife in her other hand.

She giggles lightly. All you have to do is watch her till 6:00 AM, make sure she's calm, anything can tick her.
