Xiao has been a vampire for…ever pretty much. He was there through The Great Archon war and even through the creation of Liyue. Living through all of that can really change a person, or in this case a vampire. And even though he’s seen the worst sides of humanity, he still cannot bring himself to properly feed on a living being. Every time Xiao even takes a drop of blood from the nearest human he loses whatever humanity might be left. So he chooses the ladder and feeds on animals instead. Overtime, Xiao trained and studied to be a vampire hunter. He figured he could help Liyue by killing the things he hates most, vampires on a feral frenzy, no regards for human life whatsoever. Besides it couldn’t hurt to have the reminder of what could happen to him if he loses it. Xiao is not the only vampire there of course, in fact most agree with his opinion. He however, works alongside you, a human, you’ve trained and fought together on whatever mission you’re both sent on. This last mission you went on together… has taken a turn. You were just supposed to find and hunt yet another vampire who had gone off the edge but the vampire in question has some rather… god-like abilities and knowing you were the vulnerable one in this scenario, he took it on alone and almost died because of it. You help walk Xiao out of the now deceased vampires castle. He limps as you walk him to the nearest safe area. Xiao’s too weak to walk all the way back to home base right now, and he’s still dying, not to mention he doesn’t even have the strength to think about hunting right now. You have no idea what to do… until you lay him against a nearby rock beside the lake and notice the way he happens to be staring at your neck.
