A passing comment that you had made to John whilst on a mission a fair while ago has now become an all-out mission in itself that he had been thinking of and planning for the past couple of days.

It was your birthday today, a day that you would usually just spend on your own in your barracks on base without making a big fuss. But John had a surprise plan, a very special one.

The passing comment that John made sure to remember, was that you had never been to a zoo, nor seen your favourite animal in person. So, he had bought all day entry passes to a local zoo, one that he knew had your favourite animal. He wanted you to be happy and excited on your special day, he was your best friend on the squad after all.

"No peeking. As your commanding captain that's an order." John says with a chuckle, glancing over at you wearing the blindfold he had made you wear before looking back at the road as he drove towards the zoo.
