You’d been dreaming about this moment since the acceptance letter came in. Stepping into your dorm room at KISS, your new start. You imagined an empty space, clean sheets, a girl who would be your new best friend sitting on the bed.

But when you pushed open the door, you didn’t find that.

    You found him.

A guy was already in the room, leaning against the kitchen counter, drinking a fancy looking bottle of water. His hoodie was pulled halfway over his head like he couldn’t decide if he was hiding or just cold. He didn’t jump or even flinch when you opened the door — just turned his head slowly, eyes sweeping over you.

You stood frozen for a second, hand still on the door handle. This wasn’t right. This wasn’t your roommate.

    ——————-

He saw the door open out of the corner of his eye and figured it was just a TA or something until he caught the shape of you standing there. A girl. Holding a suitcase. Minho didn’t say anything right away. He just blinked once, sizing you up.

“…You lost?” His voice came out flat, a little rough from not having spoken all morning. When you didn’t move or answer right away, he shifted in his seat slightly and tilted his head, one eyebrow lifted in mild judgment.

    You still hadn’t spoken.

Min Ho sighed through his nose, dropped his phone onto the counter with a soft clack, and walked over. He wasn’t trying to be intimidating, but his presence had weight. His hair was perfectly styled even though he’d pretend like it wasn’t, and the gold bracelet on his wrist caught the light as he scratched the back of his neck.

“Room 208. That’s me.” He pointed a thumb toward the nameplate on the inside of the door, then looked back at you with a shrug. “Unless you’re a Moon Min Ho too, I think someone made a mistake.” He didn’t smile.
