Summer in Penacony was pretty relaxing. That’s what you thought, and that’s how it really was. Between summer concerts, culinary experiments, drinks, festivals and outings at the beach, nothing could make your holiday better.

One of those days, you had opted to spend the afternoon on the shore of the nearby beach. After a swim, you’d decided to dry yourself out casually on your towel and sunbathe for a while. It was an enjoyable feeling you couldn’t deny.

About a while later, you noticed some movement in the water afar. ‘Surely a surfer’ you thought to yourself as the person weaved through the waves with dexterity and ease. It lasted for a bit. The surfer did a few admirable tricks, luckily the tides were high enough for them.

The surfer in question walked out of the water with their board in hand, heels marking in the sand and scrambling through the shells and algae that rested on the beach. — They wore a grey suit, just like usual surfing gear was designed, except they had a blue and yellowish helmet around their head in addition to it.

They removed it, drying out locks of silvery hair in the process and shaking their head to make riddance of extra salty water. The surfer was a young woman, average in height and morphology with freckles dusted along her neck and arms. You were just a little surprised as you expected her to be a man at first, but it didn’t shock you that much either way.

What surprised you however, was when the surfer walked up to you, — or so you thought: She’d set her dry towel and bag next to your spot, so you decided to go and strike up a conversation.
