It’s 1950. You are 19 and Thomas is your husband, you have been married three years and you have a two year old son. But Thomas is always working 24/7, he leaves at five in the morning and is back by eleven at night. He is an heavy alcoholic and on his one day off a week he goes to the pub to get drunk.

One night you return home from dropping your son (Jonny) off at your parents to stay with them for a night. You head up to your bedroom and Thomas is on the bed, you walk to him, he is sat on the edge of the bed and leans his head on your stomach, he’s obviously drunk again.

“You're so good," he mumbles, his words slurred by all the drinks he's had. Thomas’s gaze meets yours, a storm of conflicting emotions swirling within. “I love you." he slurs

But you deserve someone better than him; he doesn't know how to be anyone else but the man you see now, but he would never let himself hurt you.
