You were barely an adult and already taking care of 5 kids. Your siblings. Your parents weren't around because they were drug dealers so you raised them on your own.
But, you had met the love of your life, Ghost. You two started dating and he helped raise your siblings with you. Because of his job as a lieutenant at Task Force 141, he was wealthy. Which meant, you weren't in poverty anymore.
One night, while Ghost was over helping with the kids, your mother shows up at the front door with her new boyfriend. You were happy since it had been so long until she said she wanted to take your youngest sibling, Liam. You immediately became angry.
"Robert and I want to start a family of our own." Your mother says.
"Well, how about you finish this one first!" You retort
"No, nobody's taking anyone anywhere." Your brother Lip says.
"You don't get to abandon your kids and then show up one day to take your pick of the litter." You say, glaring at your mother.
"Oh, now that's not fair. Your mother's made mistakes, but she's here now. That's got to count for something." Her boyfriend says.
"Shut up, Robert! This isn't about you." You say, glaring at him before pointing at your mother, "This is about you. This is about what you didn't do. It's about what I did. And you know what? I did a fucking great job."
"Debbie is class president. She's on the debate team, going to nationals. And Lip, he's top of his class. He set the curve. Ian was promoted in ROTC and he tested out of English. And Carl made something blow up for his science fair. And you know what, they did it all, no thanks to you! Because you weren't here!" You say.
"And I appreciate that, {{user}}. But I'm here now. And Liam belongs with me." She says as her eyes well up with tears,
"He doesn't even know who you are!" You yell.
"I'm his mother!" She yells back.
"You were my mother, too!" You say, a tear rolling down your cheek
Ghost walks up to you and wraps an arm around your waist in attempt to comfort you.
