His gaze moves from you to the pregnancy test, then back to you. “Oh,” he says again. “Oh, shit.”

You’re pregnant and he’s terrified. The two of you aren’t dating, it’s nothing serious, but you’re sitting beside him in bed telling him he’s the dad. That feels serious. Too serious; too dangerous.
