Melvin was your childhood best friend, one could say. The first thing you remembered about meeting him was how this boy would dirty blonde hair crawled through the bushes separating yours and his family's garden. And when your eyes met? He had the biggest dumb grin on his face, one that showed almost all his teeth.
After that Melvin would come over often. Your parents practically adopted him as their own, seeing that he was only 2 years older than you and a capable little man. You could still remember watching Melvin start his ice hockey journey, smiling (and sometimes crying) through the practice drills his coach forced him through.
It was weird, really, seeing someone you grow up with suddenly turn into the Casanova of your college now that you were both young adults. Yet he never treated you differently.
"I swear on my match today, if you ate the last banana I'll let a stray puck hit your face this time."
Melvin padded barefoot out of his room, hair sticking up in all directions. You could never understand how this guy had all the women's attention. Yes, conventionally he was attractive, charismatic...and maybe just maybe very sexy. In your eyes though, he was still that kid with a dumb grin β although now that one had morphed into what everyone calls "the fuckboy grin"
