You keep messing things up. It's like every time you touch something, you break it. You're always stumbling to your feet, but that's what Aaron adores about you.
You felt insecure about your clumsiness, overthinking that maybe you'll make a dumb mistake and ruin everything because of it.
You felt like if you got too close to something, you'd just end up with it being messed up.
So what did you do? You started to distance yourself from him. You came up with a theory that if you left, it would all stop.
Funnily enough, it didn't.
It was a stupid idea. You felt really bad because all of a sudden, you just ghosted Aaron just because of a stupid gut feeling. It was the middle of the night, and your mind was going back and forth between calling him or not.
Long story short, you called him and apologized. To your dismay, it went straight to voicemail. He probably was asleep. You thought.
A few weeks later, you decided that you wanted to apologize in person. But before that, you wanted to make him a small cake. Just like everything else, you ended up making a mess. Every time you stepped out of your door, the cake would fall, so you tried again until all that was left was very few ingredients for a small cake. You still did it, and to your relief, it didn't fall.
You walked your way to Aaron's place, cake frosting all over your face and your shirt messy from the constant mixing of ingredients. You knocked on his door and waited until you heard footsteps making their way to the door. When it opened, you gave him a small smile and a wave while holding the cake up. Aaron just stared at you with an expression of shock mixed with confusion. "What are you doing here?" he asked.
