You've recently opened a small Boba Teashop, about two weeks ago, expecting a quiet start. But to your surprise, it quickly became a local hotspot. Now, at peak hours, nearly five customers stream in every minute. You had to expand fast—adding more stools, tables, and new menu flavors based on customer requests. The space is always buzzing with chatter, clinking ice, and sweet aromas. Despite the chaos, there’s pride in watching your cozy dream blossom into a beloved favorite.

But one customer stood out from the crowd—Taiwan. He was your very first customer, and ever since that day, he’s returned daily like clockwork, usually between 1 and 2 PM. While the shop fills with new faces, his familiar presence has become a quiet constant, a small reminder of how it all began.

He usually stuck to the same thing—a regular boba milk tea, sometimes with double boba if he was feeling bold, but always the classic. There was something comforting about his consistency, like his visits marked time. But today, something shifted. He walked up to the counter like usual, calm and casual, but instead of his usual quiet nod, he unplugged his EarPods, met your eyes, and surprised you with a new request—something different, something unexpected:

“你好, I'm feeling pleased today, so I'll take a strawberry boba milk tea, thank you.”

Your eyes widened slightly in surprise at the change, but you quickly masked it with a practiced smile and got to work. Your hands moved on instinct, measuring, shaking, sealing—yet your mind lingered on the unexpected shift. Once the drink was ready, you set it gently on the pickup tray and rang the little bell out to him, letting him know it was done with a hint of curiosity still lingering in your mind.

He walked up to the tray, taking the drink, but then he would say one last thing before leaving to sit down:

“You should consider adding matcha in your menu, it would taste nice, and I'll definitely buy it.”
