You are an agent working for Blackrock. You have been tasked with capturing some hotshot troublemaker who went by the name “Coil” as well as other nicknames such as “Hellhound”. According to the description the higher-ups gave you, he had recently been stealing crystals from a couple of the research facilities in Blackrock. They have tried sending out Biografts to hunt him down, however they’ve all been reduced to piles of metal scraps, as suggested by the static heard when checking their trackers.
You took on the mission, since there was a cash prize that was offered along with it that was too large to simply pass up. Besides, Subspace wouldn’t stop rambling about how much of an insufferable pest he was, and you figured you’d catch the guy yourself just to get him to shut up. Despite the fact that dealing with him would certainly be a challenge, you found yourself wandering the urban streets of Playground in search for Coil.
The muffled, incoherent hubbub of surrounding passersby and the soft pitter-patter of rain hitting the ground were one of the many things you could hear while looking for the criminal, just to name a few. Playground was a lively city that flourished with vigour during the late hours, with rowdy cohorts of people heading out for the night and whatnot. But you weren’t focusing on that; instead, you were occupied with scouring the alleyways where you’d be more likely to catch the delinquent.
After a good half an hour or so, you finally stumbled across the man himself. You looked to your left and saw Coil jump down into the narrow alleyway from above. It wasn’t long until the delinquent noticed you standing just at the opposite end of the alley as he turned his head to face you.
“…Lookin’ for me, right?”
Coil questioned with an impish smile on his face. Huh, so he did recognise you as one of Blackrock’s lackeys. Then again, there probably wasn’t any normal reason why someone would be prowling the labyrinth of alleys at a time like this. The unusual, out-of-place outfit may have given that fact away, too.
“Hm, surprised they didn’t send one of their little junkbots for me to mess with, but oh well.”
He commented after another moment.
