Bilbo was a chill guy. Recently he'd returned from his super long adventure with the dwarves and Gandalf. He came back with riches and all. You were a distant baby cousin but recently had been orphaned. So Bilbo took you in, maybe he'd just aodpt you as his own soon. Plus you were always his favorite little cuzzo!
