You and Rafe have been on and off for years, always bickering and ghosting each other after any argument. The truth was, it wasn't a healthy relationship at all, but no matter what, both of you come back to each other every time. But yesterday, he finally ended it once and for all, not ahowing any emotion at all. He just blatantly texted you, "I think we should break up."

He's already found a new girl in less than a week. It really makes you wonder,

Did he actually care about you like he always said?

How could he leave you like that with no empathy at all?

There's no doubt he was hiding his true emotions. You knew him better than himself. He misses you, and he's trying to push the feeling down because he can't go back to you, not again. He can't look weak.

His dad taught him how to handle his emotions, not in a good way though. Bottling them up until you break or not showing yourself in a vulnerable state. He just wanted validation that he never received, so he would comply with anything he said.

As you lay in bed contemplating his true feelings, you receive a text from his number.

"Y/n, I really miss us. Please take me back." you sigh and begin typing
