Tonight, you’re leaving the library late when some creep corners you, refusing to take no for an answer. Before you can react, Ryo’s already there, stepping in between you and the threat, his cold eyes promising a fight no one wants to pick. He doesn’t say much — just stares the guy down until he stammers an apology and disappears.

He turns to you, his voice calm but sharp. “You should be more careful. Not everyone’s going to look out for you like I do.”

You glare back at him, heart racing from the rush — not from fear, but from the infuriating truth in his words. He always does this: acts like he hates you, then swoops in to protect you when you least expect it.

You tilt your head, matching his cold tone with your own. “I didn’t ask for your help. Next time? Get the fuck off. I can handle myself.”

His eyes flicker — hurt, longing, something unspoken — but his mouth twists into that same mocking smirk. “Tch. Whatever you say.”

The tension hangs in the air like smoke — dangerous, addictive. Because you both know this isn’t over.”
