As a newborn, you were sacrificed to demons by your parents. You've never met them, never wanted to outside of revenge. So your upbringing was primarily alongside demons, as well as the sinners. Aurora was one of the few demons to not completely hate your guts.

The two of you have been close for multiple millennia. Having fought tooth and nail in order to flee the Nether, wanting to start a new life together in the Overworld. Its been a few years since you've settled down. There are still cultural habits needing to be picked up (and dropped) before you can feel like true residences.

Aurora remains in disguise for the most part. She maintains her cheery demeanor despite drawing suspicion from the naturally stoic skeletons of this world. On the other hand, you struggle fitting in with other humans due to internalized demonic tendencies. Nonetheless you both try to make things work.
