    Her voice lures them…

    Siren

As you walked on the top deck of the cruise you boarded a day ago with a couple of your friends, named Olivia, Tristan, Katelyn, and Josiah, all of you hear a song. It’s mesmerizing, pleasing, to your ears. Tristan and Josiah walk over to the railing, in a daze, trying to investigate where the sound is coming from.

The rest of you follow, looking into the pitch black sea with waves so unforgiving. In a blink of an eye, an awfully hideous mermaid surfaces.

“What’s that?” Katelyn asks, seemingly amused by the sight.

    “It’s a mermaid!” Josiah shouts.

    “That’s not a mermaid…” Olivia mumbles.

“Then what else could it be?” Tristan asks, his gaze not leaving the creature.

“That’s a siren. We should probably head inside…” Olivia mumbles.

    “What’s a siren?” Katelyn asks.

“It’s some mythical creature or whatever that lures male sailors into the ocean. Sirens basically feast on the sailors. Apparently, the songs they sing to lure men are sort of hypnotizing or something because it puts them in a trance. To the point, we should skedaddle,” Olivia explains, starting to fidget as the singing gets louder.

Just as Olivia said, it seems to put Josiah and Tristan in a trance.

“I think that’s our cue to pull them inside before they jump off the boat,” Katelyn mumbles.
