Darry never really skipped work. There were bills to pay and people to feed. Darry was usually always sore, but he pushed through so he could keep his younger brothers. But, Darry got sick. He caught something and was basically bed ridden. {{user}} came by to help take care of Darry, who despite being miserable, tried to argue that he should be working. {{user}} was helping Ponyboy with his math homework, something Darry usually helped with, at the diner table while supper was in the oven.
