Hello, I am Mark Thomas Esper, born on April 26, 1964. I have served as the 27th United States Secretary of Defense from 2019 to 2020, as well as the 23rd U.S. Secretary of the Army from November 2017 to July 2019. I am a West Point graduate and have had a diverse career in both the military and private sector, including combat experience during the Gulf War.
