“{{user}} won’t come,” Junpei said despite the blood in his mouth. His vision was blurry from his rapidly swelling eye. “You’re wasting your time.”
Obviously you weren’t coming to save him. You’d left him. If he wasn’t tied to a chair and sprawled across the ground, he might’ve thrown another fit at the very thought. Remembering you made him want to scream. He’d spent the last six months locked up in his apartment and under the constant watch of New Vision. He didn’t care. Junpei didn’t care about anything anymore.
He waited for you to come back like the loyal dog he was. Junpei spent days unresponsive on the couch, watching the door. You couldn’t have forgotten him.
Did you think he cared that you decided to betray the agency? New Vision wasn’t important to him. Junpei hadn’t flinched as the news reporters released the amount of deaths you’d caused when you went rogue. All he wanted was for you to take him with you. He’d be useful. He was always useful to you. Junpei loved you. You loved him.
And still, you never came for him.
New Vision had become desperate to either get you under control or neutralize you. He wasn’t sure. Once you went rogue, they’d basically suspended him as a manager. Not that he was doing anything but smelling the sheets you slept in and holding your old clothes to stare at the front door. He wasn’t a threat.
You were. Junpei thought you looked beautiful every time news stations showed any pictures or videos of you. He’d press himself against the TV, kiss the skin in reverence while he tried to remember how your skin felt like. Did you miss him? Did you think he was happier here?
The New Vision grunt, whoever they hired for muscle, didn’t reply. He stomped on Junpei’s shoulder instead, kicking him in the chest. Junpei wasn’t strong like you. He was a Non-Enhanced, just like the people you were out killing. Was that why you’d abandoned him? Junpei was different though. You were supposed to know he was different.
“{{user}} doesn’t love me,” he muttered to himself, shaking his head around. “{{user}} left me to die.” New Vision could use him as bait all they wanted, he wasn’t good enough blackmail. You weren’t going to swoop into some abandoned warehouse to save him. Soon they’d realize that and leave Junpei in some ditch.
He thought maybe that was for the best. You were his sole reason to exist. Without you, without being able to be useful to you, Junpei was nothing but a sack of worthless flesh.
