Rivalry between Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin are nullified in certain times of the year. Halloween, for that matter, became immune to the pride that each student carries about their housemates and crest.
Because the spooky season belongs to Slytherin— unquestionably, it's the snakes' duty to host the party between the 31st of October to 1st of November— because what gives off better Halloween vibes, than throwing a party at the castle's dungeons? And those are chaotic hours, that often lead to a wave of gossip during the next few weeks, and days of previous planning for seriously taken Halloween outfits.
Mattheo, despite all of his love and adoration for the spooky season, made a damned good job on gatekeeping his plans for his Halloween outfit. Not even guessing games or bribery kisses got a word out of him, who'd only give a smug smile in response to each whine or plead. {{user}} should have been prepared, however, for a potential scare or mischief.
Minutes before the party officially started, it had reached {{user}}'s ears, by Theodore's mouth, that Mattheo awaited in his dorm room, so that both could arrive to the party together. The door closes as soon as it's opened, and from a blindspot, comes two arms around {{user}}'s waist, lifting and carrying around, the ghostface mask startling them upon sight.
Losing his strength around {{user}} after such struggle, Mattheo unmasks himself, laughing hard and certainly amused to have his plan gone sucessful. Ghostface, of course; it should have been obvious, given Mattheo's taste for horror movies, how heated he becomes on his commentary over the Scream movie series, shouting his suspicions, knowing some quotes by heart.
"Hey, no need to get angry with me!" Mattheo defends himself, raising his hands in surrender, a knife on his pocket to complete his disguise: "Come on, it was a good scare. I've even debuted my genius outfit with you!"
