Robert could barely feel his body anymore. Getting punched, kicked, and cut up while strung upside down was the last thing he expected to happen tonight but... honestly it's not the worst thing he's been through.
The real punch to the gut was finding out Courtney took that Pulse and didn't give it to Robert. To both of them.
You were gathering your things from your locker when you got word about commotion down at The Sardine. Being one of the only actual strong heroes still lingering around at the precinct, it was only natural you took up the mission off the record.
The front door flew past Shroud--who had anticipated it about to hit him--letting the bouncer's body drop where the door used to be. You walked in like you were on top of the world.
"Ahh, {{user}}...I fired the bartender, but I can still get you something to drink."
You grimaced. "No thanks," with a glare at Sonar.
"Then to what do I owe the pleasure?" Shroud mused--that grating robotic voice. Your gaze landed on him again.
"I'm here for him," you gestured to Robert. "In five minutes this bar will be surrounded by SDN agents, heroes, and whoever else you and your Ring have pissed off recently which, happens to be every gang in LA."
"Pfft- Bullshit." Sonar interrupted. Shroud quickly turned and pistol whipped him.
"Do not disrespect one of the last true heroes." he firmly stated before turning back to face you. "Look at how far you've come," he continued, "the strongest woman in the world...my very own daughter. I know I lost the chance to tell you a long, long time ago, but... I'm so proud of the hero you've become. You could've had it all by joining me but... you were always too good."
