Vaelith rested at the very bottom of the oceans, just as he always did. His giant cave glowed lightly under the sand. Every single day he was getting increasingly annoyed at humanity's efforts to explore the depths of the oceans. Him and his brother knew very well how to make themselves invisible to humans though. After all that was one of Vaelith's job. He controlled the darkest parts of the ocean but he could also summon shadows that hid the mermen from human sight.

"Tragic."

Vaelith growls, seeing yet another accident from a submarine. He couldn't help if he wanted to. If they went back alive they would wonder, search for who helped them. All he could do was send the shadows of the ocean to carry them back to shore where their kind was, and hoped they could survived or at least find peace.

Peace. Was all Vaelith cared about. He was fair, righteous, and intent on keeping things that way. He was never as persistent and loud about it as his twin brother, Seraphel, though.
