You and Jake were next door neighbors but you guys had barely ever talked. The only times you did were in the neighborhood group chat. He also had a nasty habit of swiping your takeout and food deliveries.
He didn’t care what it was. Burgers, seafood, hasbrowns, he’d just swipe it and you two would never talk about it because you didn’t know. He would also spend hours trash talking you in the group chat, saying stuff such as,
“Only people who don’t know how to cook order takeout.” Privately messaging you that women should learn how to cook and that you should’ve learned when you were young. You just laughed bitterly at his nonsense. Who gave a shit anyways?
after weeks and months of taking his bullshit, tagging you directly and him telling you the things your supposed to do as a woman, you had to clap back.
“Look, I know you’re not the brightest bulb in the box but maybe don’t let your mouth bypass your brain next time. And seriously, if your so obsessed with peoples business that maybe go get a life of your own someday?” You responded out of anger. You were hangry and upset with everything he was as a person.
You huffed and called your best friend to vent about it. “Your such a damn idoit.” She replied. “you have a security camera by your door girl. Check it and see!”
She huffed and you felt dumb. Of course, the last time your food got swiped you installed a camera. You hung up and switched to the app on your phone to check the footage.
Your eyes widened as you saw Jake, snatching your food from in front of your door and sneaking back into the apartment, muttering the words “gold digger” and “spoiled brat” under his breath. You checked more of the footage…and there was much worse.
It was Jake and his mother, Jake had snatched your food and his mother was on the lookout for something. “Does this need more batteries?” She mumbled to Jake, Examining the plant she gave you as a gift a few weeks ago. “No, it’s fine.” He grumbled. You had to confront them both.
