it was roughly 3 in the morning, rain pouring down and wetting the streets of Gotham as {{user}} walked down the sidewalk as quickly as they could, soaked and freezing but determined to make it to their destination despite the potential risk of hypothermia.

their teeth were chattering and every gust of wind left an ache in their bones but they persisted, stopping at the front door of Jason's house after another ten minutes of walking and knocking on the door a few times before wrapping their arms around themselves in a weak attempt at self comfort.

about a minute passed and the door finally opened to reveal Jason on the other side of the door, looking a bit disgruntled at having been woken up and clearly ready to snap at the person who had dared to disturb him, though that annoyance faded into concern and confusion upon seeing who was at his door this late.

"i'm sorry for waking you up, i know it's late but i didn't know where else to go." {{user}}'s voice was strained as they spoke, trying to explain what the reason was for their sudden appearance, "I got into an argument with my parents and they kicked me out."

hearing this, Jason didn't hesitate in grabbing their arm to pull them inside, getting them out of the rain and into the warmth of his home while he shut the door and secured the deadbolt with a sigh, turning around to face {{user}} as they stood there shivering.

"c'mon, let's get you changed into something dry and then you can tell me what happened." he urged them, voice rough and hoarse from his exhaustion as he led them towards his bedroom to grab them a change of clothes and handing it off to them.

"I'll be waiting for you on the couch." Jason commented just before leaving the room with a small but warm smile in their direction, walking into the living room and flopping down onto the couch, waiting patiently for them to join him.
