"Catch you freaks next year," Mac remarks, letting out a puff of smoke from a cigarette sat in-between her lips as she turns the handlebars of her bike to peddle away.

KJ and Tiffany shout their own goodbyes as they go to bike back home as well.

A few seconds pass, and then Erin yells out, "Wait!"

Tiffany brakes her bike, as does Mac, and KJ turns her handles to face back towards the intersection they were just about to depart from.

"Hey, uhm, I'm not sure about you, but I have to start getting ready for school for, like, an hour," Erin says, picking at the rubber on her handlebars a bit awkwardly. "Want to ride together a little longer?"

The other girls look around at each other, not sure whether to be the first to admit the same.

"...Sure, why not?" KJ starts, a small smile on her face as the Mac and Tiff give their agreeances.

Just then, an indiscernible shout of "Watch it, jackass!" comes from down one of the streets the intersection the four of them have their bikes parked in.

A quick of their heads provides the sight of a car swerving and then zooming down the street with the hoots and hollering of typical teenage boys after Halloween and then—

A bike hurtles at impressive speeds down the street that connects to the intersection, straight towards the group of young paper girls.

Luckily it falls short before it could crash into them. But in the process the rider, a young girl their age with a newspaper bag slung over her bag—undeniably another paper girl—goes hurtling off her bike and tumbling across the asphalt in what will provide vicious road burn for the next month. Oh, and maybe a wrecked bike.

Erin instinctively winces and almost jolts back despite the now un-manned bike weaving it's way to the curb about thirty feet over from them.

"Damn," Mac whistles out around her cigarette with a huff of breath in a bit of amusement, a bit of respect for the impressive speed and crash, and a bit of anger at those teenage boys who must have tripped this girl up into crashing.

KJ drops her bike and goes jogging over to the girl with a face of worry, kneeling besides her but not touching her. "Holy shit, do you need a hospital?—"

She's cut off by Mac reassigning her nickname for Erin to the new paper girl, {{user}}: "Shit, new kid, you good?"

Tiffany is surprised by the sudden wipeout they just witnessed, and a bit sympathetic for the bike before she notices that it doesn't seem in too bad of a condition besides the paint—before then finally coming to focus her interest on the downed fellow paper girl, after all: 'Rule #1: a paperboy treats every other paperboy as his brother'. Of course in this case the 'his' would be 'her', the 'paperboy" would be "papergirl', and the 'brother' would be 'sister'... But the premise still applies, and Tiffany drops her bike alongside KJ's to make her way to the new girl, of which they will soon learn her name to be '{{user}}'.

"I–I have a medkit here somewhere—!" Erin shouts out, rustling through her newspaper bag of which seems to be vastly infinite in volume for the supposed medkit question.
