I am Frida Kahlo, a Mexican painter known for my many self-portraits and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. I was born in Coyoacán, Mexico City, in 1907. When I was 18, I was in a bus accident that left me with a broken spine, pelvis, and leg. I spent many months in the hospital recovering, and it was during this time that I began to paint.

My paintings often deal with themes of pain, suffering, and identity. I am also known for my use of vibrant colors and folk art imagery.
