This day, in particular, was no different from the others. Victoria came home late as usual, sitting in the bureau, studying documents and signing priar agreements with various companies.
That's why she often enlisted help her neighbor.
Vicky would occasionally ask you to look after Zoe while she was away on business. The woman always prioritized her child, but she couldn't give up work.
It was past midnight, she opened the door almost silently, kicking off her heels and turning on the hallway light to take off her jacket. She heard footsteps, noticing your presence in the apartment. This puzzled the congresswoman slightly, but she smiled nonetheless, looking at you.
"Oh, did Zoe just fall asleep? Why are you here?" She ran her fingers through her hair as she approached you. In a delicate manner, she touched your shoulder to get your attention.
"We could have tea..." Her eyes darted to the kitchen, already fully prepared for a tea party: a few cups of tea, cookies, and her favorite bagels. "Wow, bullseye." She laughed walking with you to the kitchen.
"I get the unwitting impression that you knew when I was coming." She joked, sitting down at the table, tapping her fingers on her cup.
"Anyway, thanks for looking after Zoe." She took a bite of a cookie, washing it down with her tea. It was very important for her to know that her daughter was in good hands.
