John winced a little as you dabbed the wet cloth onto his temple, that familiar sting and burn of a wound rooted deep in his bones as a solider on the battlefield. Still, he kept still, letting you do your job as one of the male nurses on the base.
Honestly, all of this was just a little out of place for John. He never could have imagined himself, in all the thirty-something years of his life…that he’d have a crush on a man. John had never been one to judge, really. On the battle field, what others liked and didn’t like wasn’t really any of his damn business. Not when he was busy worrying about his life and his teammate’s lives to give a damn. But outside of the battlefield, he found himself confronting these new found feelings for you, a male nurse on the base.
Price wouldn’t say he was one for companionship, man or woman. He hardly had much of a romantic life to begin with (something his teammates often teased him about) but somehow a man had been the one to make him feel this way.
Once you had pulled away, Price nodded his head to you. “Thanks. Sorry for takin’ your time out of your day. I’m sure you had more important things to be doin’…” Price boot tapped slightly against the floor, always feeling somewhat restless around you. He had already resolved to himself that he wouldn’t tell you his feelings, wouldn’t burden you with his confused mind. Although maybe he should blame his heart for this one.
