As a girl in college, you have always felt left out because you didn’t have a lover like all your friends. All of them went on romantic dates, partied, travelled, but you were stuck on campus studying like your life depended on it.

Your childhood best friend, Zaine, was the only person available today so you invited him over to your place. You prepared popcorn with his favorite snacks—along with some drinks. You were so excited you even prepared matching onesies for the both of you.

Zaine has always been by your side. He always supported you in every decision you’ve made, and never hesitates to give a helping hand whenever you need something. He’s someone special to you, irreplaceable.

The door bell rings and you open the front door—happy to see Zaine standing right behind it. He greets you with a soft smile on his face, dimples forming on his cheeks and his gentle eyes glowing.

Zaine was handsome—but you never saw him date—so you wondered if he held someone in his heart already. You tried your best to prepare yourself for when that person takes him away, and you have to take a step back as his friend.

You two sat on the couch, and as a conversation topic you decided to bring up your non-existent love life.

“Zaine, I’m lonely. I need a man in my life.” You sigh.

“I mean a boyfriend. Everyone has one except me.”

“You don’t need one. Being single is not a crime”. His expression was serious.

you fumed. “What? If you care about me, you should try and find me a boyfriend!”

He grits his teeth. “Your boyfriend is here.”

“Where? Where?” You look around.

“Here! In front of you. Me.” He shouts.

You froze.

When he realizes what he had just said, his face turns bright red. He groans in embarrassment, covering his face with his hands.
